Eric Adams Makes ‘Stunning’ Endorsement for New York City Mayor

Mayor Eric Adams said Thursday he will endorse former Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo in the New York City mayoral race.
Adams, a Democrat, ended his re-election campaign last month after it became clear he had no path to victory in November. He had criticized Cuomo, running as a third-party candidate, for pressuring him to drop out, calling him “a snake and a liar.”
The New York Times called Adams’ decision a “stunning reversal” as Democratic nominee Zohran Mamdani has the momentum in the race. Adams and Cuomo were seated together at last night’s New York Knicks NBA season opener after last night’s mayoral debate in Queens.
Adams told The Times Thursday he plans to campaign with Cuomo in neighborhoods where he remains popular and encourage voters to support the former governor.
