Netflix to Premiere Stranger Things Finale in Theaters and Online Simultaneously

Netflix is preparing a spectacular finale for Stranger Things, which will for the first time appear in theaters simultaneously with the online premiere. The two-hour final episode will screen in more than 350 cinemas across North America on December 31 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time. The run will continue until January 1, 2026.

The finale, titled “The Rightside Up,” is a two-hour episode that will, for the first time, combine a traditional theatrical screening with a Netflix streaming release at the same moment.

Previously Netflix has staged special theatrical screenings for Stranger Things 4: Volume 2 and has showcased standalone films from its original slate, such as KPop Demon Hunters, Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, and Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein.

The company says that more details about locations and attendance arrangements for these screenings will be announced soon.

Premiere dates and venues

Season five of Stranger Things debuts on Netflix with four episodes on November 26; three more episodes will arrive on Christmas, and the finale on New Year’s Eve.

After the premiere, fans will be able to follow the news and look forward to further announcements about releases and screenings.
