A major power failure knocked out the electricity to large areas of north Langley on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 23.
According to BC Hydro’s outage map, the failure began just after 8:30 a.m. and involved most of Walnut Grove, Fort Langley, Glen Valley, and parts of Willoughby.
Almost everything north of the Trans Canada Highway was potentially affected, as well as areas south as far as Milner and, in central Langley, down to 56 Avenue and 240 Street.
The cause was listed as a transmission circuit failure, and BC Hydro crews had been dispatched to make repairs. The Langley Advance Times has reached out to BC Hydro for more details on the cause.
The failures were shown as a series of overlapping power outages, with thousands of customers in the dark.
