The BBC has dismissed “simply untrue” speculation that Stephen Fry and David Olusoga clashed on Celebrity Traitors.
Both stars are taking part in the current series of the BBC game show, with reports suggesting they had a disagreement after mutually suspecting each other of being Traitors. It was claimed that fellow celebrities found the situation “surprising” and that it became something of a “talking point” backstage at Ardross Castle.
Nevertheless, the BBC has firmly rejected any suggestions of conflict between the duo, reports the Daily Record.
A spokesperson stated: “To claim there was any tension between Stephen Fry and David Olusoga outside of the game is simply untrue.”
TV star Stephen and historian David are both actually Faithfuls in the BBC programme, which challenges participants to identify the Traitors before facing elimination or banishment themselves.

The two were spotted having a conversation during Wednesday night’s episode (October 22), with Stephen telling David: “I adore you and I don’t want you to go.”
The celebrity version of this game of betrayal and manipulation, presented by Claudia Winkleman, launched earlier this month and viewers are already captivated by the unfolding drama.

To date, multiple famous faces have already been eliminated or murdered by the trio of Traitors – Alan Carr, Cat Burns and Jonathan Ross.
In a surprising turn of events, singer Paloma Faith was given an early exit when Alan was tasked with eliminating someone in plain sight by touching their face after first rubbing a ‘deadly’ flower.
Her elimination shocked many fans as Alan and Paloma were close on the show and are known to be good friends in real life too.

Olympic diving champion Tom Daley, actress Ruth Codd and Voice of an Angel singer Charlotte Church have also been dismissed after attracting the attention of the Traitors during their covert turret conversations.
YouTube star Niko Omilana and EastEnders actress Tameka Empson were banished from the BBC game show following intense roundtable debates, while television presenter Clare Balding was also expelled from the castle after coming under suspicion.
Celebrity Traitors airs on BBC One.
