Woman, 76, dies after being struck by a shuttle bus near Montreal airport

A woman, 76, is dead after she was hit by a shuttle bus in Montreal’s West Island Friday afternoon.
Montreal police say they were called to the Park’N Fly parking lot around 1:25 p.m. about the collision on Marshall Avenue near McMillan Boulevard in Dorval, Que.
Police say the woman was walking when she was struck by the shuttle bus, which then went on to hit five vehicles before coming to a stop in a ditch.
Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant, a spokesperson for the Montreal police, said it’s currently not known why the bus driver hit the woman and other vehicles.
When authorities arrived, they found the woman on the ground and she was pronounced dead.
The driver of the shuttle, a 56-year-old man, was uninjured, but transported to hospital to be treated for shock. Police will be meeting with him later, Brabant said.
Police are investigating. Brabant said, during the investigation, drivers are encouraged to seek alternative parking, noting there is another parking lot nearby.
It will also be difficult for drivers to leave the lot where the incident happened as it is now being treated as a crime scene, he said.
