Elvis Crespo to receive Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame award

Oct. 14 (UPI) — Meringue music artist Elvis Crespo will be honored with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award during the Billboard Latin Music Awards on Oct. 23.
The awards show will air live at 8 p.m. EDT on Telemundo and also stream on Peacock and the Telemundo app.
Crespo is also slated to perform alongside Tono Rosario, Ebenezer Guerra and La Insuperable.
“Receiving the Billboard Hall of Fame Award is one of the greatest honors of my career,” he said in a statement. “This award is not only for me, it’s for merengue, for Puerto Rico, and for every fan who has danced and celebrated life with my music.”
The Puerto Rican singer is well known for songs like “Suavemente” and “Tu Sonrisa.”
Other performers at the Billboard Latin Music Awards include Daddy Yankee, Abraham Mateo, Angel Lopez, Arthur Hanlon, Carlos Vives, Danny Ocean, Emilia, Grupo Frontera, Juan Duque, Kapo, La Arrolladora Banda El Limon de Rene Camacho, Laura Pausini, Los Pleneros de la Cresta, Musza, Neton Vega, Nxnni, Olga Tanon, Oscar Maydon, Peso Pluma, Ozuna, Wisin and Xavi.
Fellow Puerto Rican music artist Bad Bunny will be honored as Billboard’s Top Latin Artist of the 21st Century at the event.
