Is Jordan Addison Hurt? Breaking Down if the Vikings Star Is Injured Amid Slow Start in Week 8 vs. Chargers

The Minnesota Vikings did not have the first half they were hoping for on Thursday Night Football. The Los Angeles Chargers are commanding the game on offense and defense. The Vikings’ offense is struggling to score with only three points in the first half, and the defense has allowed the Chargers to put up 21 points. The Vikings’ offense has been concerning, with many of their key players having a quiet first half, including WR Jordan Addison.

What Happened to Jordan Addison?
The Chargers have done a great job taking away Jordan Addison in this one. He has been active, but doesn’t have much to show for his efforts. Justin Jefferson is going to do what he does, but it hasn’t been enough. Addison needs to get going to help open up the offense.
Addison has only two catches for 22 yards. The Vikings need to get him involved, as a dynamic threat like him can make a huge impact.
The Vikings listened in the third quarter as they found Addison for a touchdown with a little less than five minutes left in the third quarter to cut the Los Angeles lead to 14 points. The Chargers helped out with two 4th down penalties that extended the drive for the Vikings. If Minnesota can spark a comeback, this drive will be the turning point in the contest. Addison is finding his groove, and the Vikings are looking to get him involved in the second half.

Although the Vikings lost to the Eagles last week, Addison was dominant. He had nine catches for 128 yards against Philadelphia. He led the team in receiving and was the most dangerous offensive threat for the Vikings. When both Addison and Jefferson are firing on all cylinders, it is very tough to keep Minnesota from scoring.
A major problem for the Vikings has been their offensive line. They have been decimated by injuries with Pro Bowl LT Christian Darrisaw questionable to return tonight, and RT Brian O’Neill already missing multiple weeks. Carson Wentz has been under pressure all night. He has held onto the ball too long at points, but also he’s being done no favors in pass protection while gutting through some discomfort.
Addison has had an up and down season in 2025. He was suspended for the first three games of the season, then he returned with a strong game against the Steelers before being benched for the first quarter in the following game for disciplinary reasons by the team.
Addison has a knack for finding the end zone with 21 touchdowns, including his score tonight in his short career. If he can find it again tonight, the Vikings will have a shot to steal a game from the Chargers.
