A first look at tonight’s Married at First Sight UK sees Maeve forced to make a major decision about her future on the E4 reality TV show.

Maeve and husband Joe’s marriage has been rocky from the beginning, with the pair clashing over their lifestyles and methods of communication. Adding further difficulty to the process, Joe sadly lost his grandad while filming, meaning he left Maeve in their apartment alone as he headed back home to attend the funeral.

In Monday’s (20 October) episode of MAFS, viewers saw Maeve attend a dinner party alone as her co-stars speculated about the state of hers and Joe’s marriage, as Joe hadn’t given her a definite answer about whether he was returning to the experiment or not.

Tuesday’s (21 October) episode sees Maeve sit down with the MAFS experts – Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas – to discuss her marriage and where to go next.

The teaser clip begins with fellow groom Ashley sharing his thoughts, after he’d had an emotional conversation with Joe prior to his departure.

“If you’re asking my opinion, in the headspace that he’s [Joe] in, I don’t think he can give you what you need,” Ashley admitted, as Maeve looked down.

Mel, a specialist in human behaviour and performance, then asked Maeve: “This is a really good point. What do you need in a relationship?”

She then became tearful as she admitted: “Someone that’s going to be there for us. Someone that’s going to have my back. Someone that’s not just going to leave us. This is s**t.”

Maeve’s co-stars expressed their sympathy for her as she tried to compose herself while fighting back tears.

“I just feel that probably right now, I do think he needs to focus on himself. And, I probably need to focus on myself,” she then told Mel.

Mel proceeded to ask her if it was time to “choose you”, with Maeve confirming she felt it was time to focus on herself rather than the show.

“And what might that look like?” Mel probed, with Maeve admitting: “Going”, leaving her co-stars looking sad.

MAFS fans flocked to share their support for Maeve following the release of the teaser clip, with one saying: “Feel bad for her,” as another commented: “My hearts goes out to her and joe.”

A third fan said: “I love both Joe and Maeve but separately. I don’t know why they were matched. Joe wanted calm and peace and that is not what he got. Also, he lost his Grandad and then was expected to ‘perform’ on TV immediately. He needed time.”

Married at First Sight UK airs from Sunday until Thursday on E4 at 9pm
