For Denver, Aaron Gordon finished with a career-high 50 points and eight rebounds, shooting an efficient 17-of-21 from the field on a historic night. Nikola Jokic added 21 points.

Fans hyped Curry after he led Golden State to a 2–0 season start with a huge performance.

Both teams traded baskets in a competitive first half, with Denver holding a slight edge. By halftime, Gordon was unstoppable, hitting 7-of-7 from beyond the arc and setting the Nuggets’ record for most three-pointers in a half, finishing the frame with 25 points as Denver led 70–61.

The Warriors battled back in the third quarter, tying the game at 94 apiece heading into the final frame, fueled by hot shooting from Butler and Curry to keep Golden State in contention.

Gordon stayed red-hot in the fourth, scoring 10 unanswered points.

Curry went vintage, sinking a game-tying three with just over a minute remaining, but Gordon came right back with another open three with 25 seconds left. Curry then hit a 32-foot three to tie it again, sending the game into overtime.

A clutch three-pointer from Curry to open overtime, followed by another from Butler with 40 seconds left, sealed the victory.

The Golden State Warriors picked up their second win of the 2025–26 season after defeating the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday, while the Nuggets opened their season with a loss, falling to 0-1.

The Warriors will hit the road again Friday to face the Portland Trail Blazers on the second night of a back-to-back, while the Nuggets will host the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.
