West Fargo civic group plans welcome event for new residents

WEST FARGO — Civic West is planning a welcome event for new residents as part of its regular fire hall chats.
The welcome event will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, at the West Fargo Fire Department, 1201 10th Ave. E., according to a release from Civic West.
Old and new residents are invited to a reception and music by the local soul and blues group Treo’Soul.
New residents will receive a free welcome bag containing information and giveaways, as well as the opportunity to meet neighbors and make new friends, the release said.
All West Fargo residents are welcome to the free and family-friendly event.
Civic West, along with West Fargo Events, Visit Fargo-Moorhead and the West Fargo Fire Department, are sponsoring the community event, the release said. Civic West is a nonprofit organization that aims to increase civic knowledge and engagement in the community. The group has been hosting monthly fire hall chats that introduce speakers from local government and other civic organizations.
Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of “staff.” Often, the “staff” byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
