EXCLUSIVE: Fountain Square double shooting suspect surrenders to police

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – The suspect from a double shooting at Fountain Square last week turned himself in to police Sunday night.
Only FOX19 NOW was outside the Cincinnati Police Department District One headquarters when shooting suspect Shaquille Ferguson, 24, arrived with his attorney, Clyde Bennett II.
Ferguson was booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center at 7:24 p.m.
He faces three counts of felonious assault and one count each of having weapons while under disability (illegally having a gun) and improperly firing a weapon at or into a habitation in a school safety zone.
Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Jackie Ginocchio set his bond at $2.6 million during a brief hearing Monday morning.

Bennett told FOX19 NOW his client did nothing wrong, and this is a case of self-defense.
“In Ohio, you have the right to defend yourself,” he said.
There is more to the story than the videos that have been released, Bennett contends.
“I think there’s some other videos out there that will show that the individuals in that restaurant were actually armed and pointing a gun at him,” he said.
The reason only one video has been released is because of the political climate in the city and “the agendas of certain individuals,” Bennett alleged.
“This is a random act of a person defending themself,” he told FOX19 NOW.
The case has elicited sharp reactions from local political leaders and businesses concerned about safety in the city’s center.
