Paraag Marathe has a target on his back at Leeds United after Rangers miscalculation

Leeds United CEO Paraag Marathe’s handling of the search for a new manager at Rangers could come back to haunt him at Elland Road if the club are forced to replace Daniel Farke.
As things stand, there is no suggestion that Daniel Farke is under pressure at Leeds, as the Whites have made an acceptable start to the Premier League season.
However, with Leeds preparing for an important relegation battle against West Ham, that situation could soon change if Farke’s side fail to collect three points at Elland Road on Friday.
Whilst the Leeds ownership is understood to be broadly content with Farke’s performance, there were reports that the club have considered alternative options, including Jose Mourinho.
Now, Leeds United News expert Graeme Bailey has argued that Marathe’s handling of the hunt to replace Russell Martin at Rangers could come back to bite him at Leeds.

Why the Rangers situation could come back to haunt Paraag Marathe
Speaking exclusively to Leeds United News, Bailey explained why he believes Paraag Marathe could feel the impact of the protracted hunt to replace Martin, which eventually saw Rangers appoint Danny Rohl, could damage his reputation at Leeds.
According to Bailey, if Daniel Farke comes under pressure at Leeds this season, fans will be wary of the potential issues that the search for his replacement could bring.
Bailey said: “His reputation hasn’t been aided by what’s happened in Glasgow, and personally, I find it curious that he was so intent on being part of it.

“When it comes to Leeds, I wouldn’t say mystique, he’s kept his head below the parapet, hasn’t he? Look, he hasn’t come in for any major criticism because of the way he’s dealt with Leeds.
“But, I think he’s made a misjudgment with the way he handled the Rangers thing, and now he has a target on his back. But. Leeds fans know, when it comes to the Farke situation, which I think before January is likely – not to come to a head, but it’s already starting – there’s going to be a few waves.
“I just think he’s made a miscalculation, and I’m surprised he hasn’t leaned on Red Bull a bit more when it comes to gauging public reaction.”

Pressure could soon build on Daniel Farke at Leeds United
Although it is perhaps too soon to suggest that the game against West Ham is a must-win fixture, Farke is veering uncomfortably close to entering that territory as Leeds’ promising start to the season fades.
With the likes of Ethan Ampadu, Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto all doubtful for the clash against the Hammers, the Leeds boss has several important decisions to make.
If Leeds fail to claim a home win against West Ham, the pressure on Farke will ramp up a notch, with a run of difficult fixtures in November and December now looming large on the horizon.
Two wins from Leeds’ next three games, against West Ham, Brighton and Nottingham Forest, would release most of the building pressure on Farke. Anything less than four points would leave Leeds in need of a surprise result from the big games to come.
