Waterford and the south east are looking forward to a bright new future for the city’s airport after a landmark €30m deal was approved by the county council on Monday.

For William Bolster, the main shareholder of the airport company that will spearhead the redevelopment, it was a day of joy mixed with exasperation that the government had dragged its feet so much he had to find an alternative private investor to get the project over the line.
