England star Jude Bellingham won’t get a chance to impress national team manager Thomas Tuchel close up on Tuesday, it has been claimed. Tuchel and assistant Anthony Barry are not expected at Anfield, where Bellingham’s Real Madrid are chasing a statement win against Liverpool in the Champions League.

Tuchel is due to name his Three Lions squad for their final World Cup qualifiers this Friday. England host Serbia on November 13 before travelling to Albania for their closer, though they have already booked their spot in North America.

Bellingham, one of the stars of the Euro 2024 final run under Gareth Southgate, started the first three qualifiers under Tuchel. He missed September’s fixtures through injury, though, and was subsequently left out of the October squad.

According to The Telegraph, Tuchel and Barry won’t be at Anfield unless there’s a last-minute change of plans. The same publication indicated the pair could still watch Bellingham remotely.

The former Borussia Dortmund man isn’t the only England international who could feature at Anfield. Madrid right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is available again after injury, while Curtis Jones and Joe Gomez are in contention to feature for the hosts.

In October, Tuchel indicated he planned to hold talks with Bellingham over the 22-year-old’s immediate international future. “Of course, he’s an important player, he’s a big player,” the manager said.

“I will speak to a lot of players, also to the guys that will get a text from me who were not in camp. Because these guys who are now here, they have the reward, and they feel the reward. And it’s now necessary also that I stay in touch with the other guys.”

He continued: “No one has done anything wrong. It’s not a punishment or whatever. And I feel when I text them and I speak to them, that everyone is eager to come back. And this is how it has to be. And I trust in more players than are here.

“We always speak about the same names, but we have Conor Gallagher, we have Trevoh Chalobah, and we have Cole Palmer injured. So there are a lot of guys out there who would deserve to be with them, and who are hungry and determined to be with us. It has to be like that.

“But I don’t doubt, if we invite them, then we are sure that they will buy in. Otherwise, we will not invite them. Why would we? This is a non-negotiable.”
