Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns on season-opening win vs. Cavaliers

Knicks forward Karl-Anthony Towns gives his thoughts on the environment at MSG on Opening Night and the team’s win over the Cavaliers.

The New York Knicks will look to make it two in a row as the Mike Brown era begins.

Coming off a 119-111 season-opening victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Madison Square Garden on Oct. 22, the Knicks and their first-year head coach have another tough task at hand Friday night.

The Celtics visit MSG in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference playoff semifinals, in which the Knicks took down Boston and advanced to the conference finals for the first time in 25 years.

Of course the Celtics are without their biggest star, Jayson Tatum, who tore his Achilles in Game 4 of that playoff series against the Knicks. He is expected to miss most, if not all, of the 2025-26 season.

So after defeating the Cavaliers, who are considered one of the favorites in the Eastern Conference this season, the Knicks will look to keep making their claim as a title contender too.
