Brighton native Ernie Clement, Blue Jays, punch ticket to World Series

Brighton native Ernie Clement is heading to the Fall Classic, as he and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Seattle Mariners in the American League Championship Series.

Clement has batted .429 with 18 hits, three doubles, one triple, and a homer in 11 games this postseason. The Brighton native has played both at second and third base for Toronto.

Toronto won the ALCS in seven games, taking the series clincher with a 4-3 win backed by a three-run homer by George Springer.

The Jays will take on the LA Dodgers in the Fall Classic with game one in Toronto.

Earlier this month, Clement was also announced as a Gold Glove Award Finalist for the American League at both third base and at utility.
