Houston — Jalen Duren’s night in Houston ended prematurely.
At the 5:55 mark of the second quarter, Duren was ejected after receiving a flagrant 2 foul for elbowing Houston Rockets forward Amen Thompson in the head. He made a move to cut to the basket when his left elbow hit Thompson’s head.
The hit appeared to be intentional. Moments earlier, Duren and Thompson had a minor altercation that led to both players receiving technical fouls. Before the ejection, Duren was having a strong start to the game, having played 12 minutes and recorded six points, six rebounds and one block.
The Pistons were ahead 43-41 when he was ejected from the game.
