Memphis Grizzlies vs Miami Heat live score updates, highlights: Ja Morant cleared to play

All of the good vibes from the Memphis Grizzlies’ first win of the 2025-26 season were put to a halt just two days later.
After a 128-122 win over the New Orleans Pelicans, the Grizzlies got off to a slow start against the Miami Heat. Memphis was unable to muster up a run, and then suddenly, it was facing the largest halftime deficit in franchise history.
Memphis trailed by 39 at halftime and lost 146-114 inside FedExForum on Oct. 24 against the Heat.
Grizzlies star Ja Morant was initially questionable to play due to ankle soreness, but he started and finished the game with 12 points in 22 minutes.
Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies in scoring with 19 points. Rookie first-round pick Cedric Coward added 16 points off the bench and made his first career 3-pointer.
Miami’s hot start was fueld by All-Star big man Bam Adebayo. He scored 18 points in the first quarter and made four 3-pointers to give the Heat a 19-point lead. He finished with 24 points.
The one positive from the loss for Memphis was that it pulled the starters before the fourth quarter. No Grizzlies starter played more than 23 minutes. This is important since the Grizzlies have a quick turnaround before their next game.
Memphis is back in action on Oct. 25 at home against the Indiana Pacers.
The Memphis Grizzlies had no answers for the Miami Heat in the first half. Miami dominated on the glass, behind the 3-point line and in the paint. Memphis is facing a 39-point deficit on the first leg of a back-to-back.
Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is in the lineup ahead of a matchup against the Miami Heat. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is also cleared to play. Both players were dealing with ankle soreness.
