Apple TV’s next two shows are my most anticipated of the fall

Apple TV is currently airing new seasons for two of its biggest hits, Slow Horses and The Morning Show. But over the next couple weeks, two brand new Apple TV series will premiere that have long been my most anticipated shows of the fall.
Down Cemetery Road, from Slow Horses author
Down Cemetery Road is a new crime thriller based on the novel by Mick Herron.
If that name sounds familiar, it’s because Herron is the author behind Apple’s excellent Slow Horses series (the ‘Slough House’ books).
Emma Thompson stars as a detective hired by Ruth Wilson’s character to investigate a crime.
Slow Horses is one of my all-time favorite Apple TV series, and the trailer for this new show seems to follow in the footsteps of pairing dark comedy with a crime mystery—and I’m all here for it.
Down Cemetery Road premieres Wednesday, October 29 with its first two episodes—the same day Slow Horses’ season finale airs. Weekly episode drops will continue through December 10.
Here’s Apple’s official summary, followed by the trailer:
When a house explodes in a quiet Oxford suburb and a girl disappears in the aftermath, neighbor Sarah Trafford (Ruth Wilson) becomes obsessed with finding her and enlists the help of private investigator Zoë Boehm (Emma Thompson). Zoë and Sarah suddenly find themselves in a complex conspiracy that reveals that people long believed dead are still among the living, while the living are fast joining the dead.
Pluribus, from Breaking Bad creator
Pluribus is a new “genre bending” sci-fi drama that, in Apple’s marketing at least, is giving off Severance vibes.
The new series hails from Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Rhea Seehorn stars in the series, reuniting her with Gilligan after her acclaimed role in Better Call Saul.
Pluribus hits Apple TV on Friday, November 7 with its first two episodes, followed by weekly releases through December 26
Not a lot is known about the series, except a second season is already confirmed, and Apple’s cryptic marketing has built a lot of anticipation for what’s ahead.
Here’s Apple’s brief series summary, followed by the trailer:
The most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.
