Australia keep the scoreboard going with three runs in the first part of the 21st over, from Sundar’s bowling. Short reaches his 30 after sneaking the ball between two fielders for two runs
Australia 2-108 (Renshaw 7, Short 26) Overs bowled: 19
Spinner Washington Sundar takes the ball for his first over of the game. India have done well to stem the run flow and get rid of Marsh.
Short spots his chance to take a quick two runs to keep the scoreboard ticking over. Sundar tries to stop a quick single from Short but ends up doing the splits.
Australia 2-104 (Renshaw 4, Short 20) Overs bowled: 18
Short drives one back down the wicket for a single and Patel seems to have hurt his wrist in the process of diving for the ball.
Otherwise another solid over from Patel which limited the hosts to few runs.
Australia 2-100 (Renshaw 4, Short 17) Overs bowled: 17
Yadav is back in the bowling attack. Short strikes the second ball towards the boundary where Rana and Sundar get into a tangle, resulting in the ball getting stuck under Sundar whose foot is on the rope and a four is awarded.
That is followed by two runs and Australia bring up their 100 to end the over.

A big opportunity for Matt Renshaw to make his impact for Australia. A dot ball ends another excellent over by Patel.
WICKET! Australia 2-88 (Marsh 41) Overs bowled: 15.1
The first ball of the 16th over as Marsh fails to choose the right shot as Patal’s bowling hits the side of his wicket.
Australia 1-88 (Marsh 41, Short 10) Overs bowled: 15
Short takes an opening single before Marsh finds a gap in the field to guide a slow ball for a boundary.
Krishna stops the ball going for another four off the final ball of the owner, but Australia take two.
Australia 1-80 (Marsh 36, Short 7) Overs bowled: 14
Axar Patel is put into the Indian bowling attack for the first time today. Marsh lashes a ball into the covers but Virat Kohli fails to handle the pace and drops the ball.
There is some conversation after Marsh takes the third ball to his chest, but the ball is heading over the wicket. Hawk-eye suggests the ball was hitting the stumps, but India decide not to review.
An excellent opening over from Patel has asked serious questions of the hosts.
Australia 1-78 (Marsh 35, Short 7) Overs bowled: 13
Kuldeep Yadav is taking his second over of bowling. The second ball is sent for a review amid claims that Short edged a ball behind.
However, there is no noise from the bat and the on-field decision of not out remains. Wicket keeper KL Rahul seemed convinced it was out.
Marsh punishes the loose ball by driving forward a four.

Siraj keeps the 12th over tight as the visitors try and stem the flow of runs. Short hits a powerful single.
Short completed the over with a nice pull shot which is rewarded by two runs.
Australia 1-67 (Marsh 28, Short 3) Overs bowled: 11
Kuldeep Yadav comes into the bowling attack for India. A few quick and easy singles for Australia.
Australia 1-63 (Marsh 25, Short 1) Overs bowled: 10
It’s almost disaster for Australia as a mix-up in communication sees both batters stuck in the middle. However, India fail to hit the stumps as Short dives back towards his wicket.
A glorious chance is missed by Indian captain Shubman Gill.
WICKET! Australia 1-57 (Head 29) Overs bowled: 9.2
Siraj starts his second spell bowling at Head and is smashed for four with a controlled drive. In the his second ball Head steers the ball to Krishna at backward point.
Head is out for 29.
Australia 0-57 (Marsh 25, Head 25) Overs bowled: 9
After being hit all over during his opening over Krishna tries to be more controlled in his second. He concedes runs from the first three balls of the over. A more solid over from Krishna.
Australia 0-54 (Marsh 24, Head 23) Overs bowled: 8
Rana concedes a four early in the eighth over as Marsh evades a diving fielder. Australia continue to build their innings with two singles. Marsh then chips one over the head of Rana for four after predicting the Indian bowler’s ball.
Australia 0-42 (Marsh 15, Head 22) Overs bowled: 7
Prasidh Krishna enters the bowling attack for India and is hit for six by Marsh from his opening ball of the match.
A leg bye from the next ball, before Head steers the ball high and despite dropping short of the boundary it goes for four.
Head scurries for a single to mark his 3,000th run in international ODI cricket and gives a little fist pump. Marsh concludes an expensive over with a single.
Australia 0-31 (Marsh 7, Head 17) Overs bowled: 6
Head is starting to build some momentum as he swipes another four from Rana, after a leg bye the previous ball. Rana claims LBW from the fifth ball, but it was always swinging away from the wicket.
Australia 0-26 (Marsh 6, Head 13) Overs bowled: 5
Head starts the fifth over with another boundary from Siraj. After a brilliant start to the game India are starting to concede runs.
Siraj tempts Head into a second drive but the ball just evades the Australian. Head salvages a disappointing over by finding a gap in the field to hit a four.
Australia 0-18 (Marsh 6, Head 5) Overs bowled: 4
Rana is back in the Indian bowling attack and starts with a wide and then dot ball. Marsh takes a heavy ball to his finger after the ball kicks up high off the dry surface.
The following ball also skims off the surface, just past Marsh and over the wicket before going out for four leg byes.
A nice cover drive from Marsh concludes the fourth over.
Australia 0-9 (Marsh 2, Head 5) Overs bowled: 3
Another leg-by early in the third over from the bowling of Siraj. Head gets off the mark with a quick run as India continue their tight bowling.
Eventually, Marsh tries to swipe for the boundary but is only rewarded with a single. Head follows his lead and does guide the ball out for four in the final ball of the over.
Australia 0-2 (Marsh 1, Head 0) Overs bowled: 2
Harshit Rana enters the game in the Indian bowling attack at Head. More tight bowling from India who are trying to make Australia force the early pace.
The fifth ball hits Head’s leg and they change strike Australia with a quick leg-by. Head takes advantage on the final ball of the over to take a quick run.
Australia 0-0 (Marsh 0, Head 0) Overs bowled: 1
Siraj gets the game underway at the SCG in the opening over. The Indian bowler fails to release his first ball after aborting his run-up. Jeers on the third ball as Marsh takes a swipe at the ball but misses on the dry pitch.
Indian have made two changes from the second ODI with Kuldeep Yadav and Prasidh Krishna coming in for Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh.
The first over is a maiden by Siraj as Australia are in no hurry to get going.

Play is just about to get underway in Sydney. Australia have won the toss and elected to bat with Mitch Marsh and Travis Head.
04:26 – Zampa four-wicket haul secures Australia series
Adam Zampa’s four-wicket haul and Cooper Connolly’s unbeaten 61 helped guide Australia to a two-wicket win over India, giving them an unassailable 2-0 lead in the One Day International series.
Zampa was supported well by Xavier Bartlett as they halted India’s middle over momentum after Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer both scored fifties.
India set a total of 264-9 which was reached with over three overs by the hosts.
