Guy Ritchie’s Greatest Crime Show (That Isn’t MobLand) Gets 2 Major Updates

It’s a great day to be a fan of filmmaker Guy Ritchie. After getting underway back in May, production has reportedly wrapped on the second season of Netflix’s The Gentlemen.

According to What’s On Netflix, filming on The Gentlemen season 2 has concluded ahead of schedule. The series was slated to film until late November, but has wrapped earlier, with the Season 2 wrap party having already been held, with a bright pair of glass tumblers being given as gifts. This update comes just over a year after Netflix renewed The Gentlemen in August 2024, following its successful premiere in March 2024. Despite production concluding earlier than expected, the release window for The Gentlemen Season 2 has not shifted, with the series still set to return in 2026.

New Actors Announced for The Gentlemen Season 2

Theo James and Kaya Scodelario are among the actors returning from Season 1, reprising their respective roles as Eddie Horniman and Susie Glass. They will be joined by several newcomers, including Downton Abbey‘s Hugh Bonneville, musician Benjamin Clementine, Immaculate‘s Benedetta Porcaroli, and 365 Days lead Michele Morrone. What’s On Netflix has additionally revealed new cast members: Ian Bonar (Isle of Shite, Dope Girls) and Cosimo Fusco (30 Coins, Angels & Demons). The former will be playing the role of Richard, while the latter has joined the cast as Carlos Vargas.

Inspired by Ritchie’s 2019 movie of the same name, The Gentlemen focuses on James’ Eddie becoming the new Duke of Halstead following his father’s death and inheriting the family’s sizable country estate — and the illegal weed farm located underneath it, run by the sophisticated yet ruthless Susie (Scodelario) and her crime boss father Bobby Glass (Ray Winstone). By the end of the season, Eddie had solidified himself as co-owner of the Glass’ massive weed empire.

Ritchie returned to direct multiple episodes of The Gentlemen Season 2, although it’s unclear exactly how many at this time. Ritchie remains one of the busiest filmmakers in the industry right now, working in both film and television. He is expected back in the director’s chair for the second season of his Paramount+ crime drama series MobLand, which is slated to begin filming before the end of the month. Ritchie also directed the upcoming Prime Video series Young Sherlock, starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a teenage version of the iconic sleuth, who finds himself caught up in a murder mystery at Oxford University that threatens his freedom.

After dropping out of Road House 2, Ritchie’s next feature will be either In the Grey, currently in post-production, or Wife & Dog, which was in production back at the start of 2025. The former reunites him with his The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare stars Henry Cavill and Eiza González, as well as his The Covenent lead Jake Gyllenhaal, while the latter boasts a cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch and Anthony Hopkins. Rosamund Pike will star in both.

The Gentlemen Season 1 is available to stream on Netflix, with Season 2 set to arrive on the platform in 2026.
