Saturday Forecast: Another sunny stunner

Thursday and Friday both brought plentiful sunshine to the Northstate, and Saturday looks to continue the trend.

This might feel a bit out of place given the wild first two weeks of October that we saw, which packed continued cool conditions and off-and-on rain that felt more like November. Believe it or not though, with forecast highs in the upper 70s, the valley will land right where we’d expect to be on October 18th. Mountain communities should also see mild temperatures that range from the mid to upper 60s in places like Burney and Mount Shasta City to low 70s in Weaverville and Hayfork. Clear skies are favored all day long, and light winds mean you’ll feel every bit of that warm afternoon.

Overnight lows look crisp and cool as we’ve seen for a while now, with lowland communities generally bottoming out in the low 50s and most mountain communities seeing upper 30s to low 40s. A bit of a cooldown is anticipated on Sunday as a storm brushes by the North Coast, but it’s a very short disruption to this pleasant pattern.

Widespread rain is still likely about a week away, so plan on more blue sky days and activities through Thursday at the earliest. Tune in to our live broadcasts this weekend for more details, and stay up to date whenever with the free KRCR Weather app!
