Linnets in home action

King’s Lynn Town will be looking to arrest a poor run of form when they host Radcliffe Borough at The Walks tomorrow.
Radcliffe – unbeaten in their last six games – are fourth in the National League standings, while the Linnets, without a win in the league since August 30, have slipped down to 16th in the table.
Speaking after the 2-2 midweek draw at Worksop Town, where Lynn let a two-goal lead slip through their grasp, interim boss Joe Simpson said: “We want that win for everybody because, once you get one, it can soon turn the other way because the confidence builds.
King’s Lynn are in home action at The Walks tomorrow.
“But it hasn’t been tonight, but that’s just going to make us more and more determined to go into Saturday and try and fly.
“How do we learn from today and dust ourselves off for Radcliffe? Well, this is the level where you have to be ruthless in both boxes.
“Once it had gone 2-1, we then settled it down again, got back on the ball and we had a brilliant chance to make it 3-1, and we haven’t.
“And then when it doesn’t go for you in that instant, you have to make sure that you keep doing the things that have got you into that position, where you land on second balls, your distances are small, you get round each other, you complete your clearances.
“When you get it back, your detail is good, but that’s where we come unstuck.”
The omens are not good for the Linnets heading into the game.
Radcliffe are currently top of the National League North form guide, having picked up 16 points from a possible 18, and Lynn are languishing in 22nd, having picked up three points from their last six outings.
Radcliffe is jointly managed by Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, who first came to prominence at Salford City during the BBC documentary Class of ’92: Out of Their League.
The Linnets, who then travel to Curzon Ashton on Tuesday night, are operating the Kids for a Quid offer for the game, with it being half-term next week.
