Dorian Thomas and the New Mexico Lobos (4-3) will take on Bryson Barnes and the Utah State Aggies (4-3) on Saturday at 3 p.m. ET, in a battle between two of the biggest offensive stars in college football.
The Lobos squared off against the Nevada Wolf Pack in their last outing, winning 24-22. The Aggies’ last game was a 30-25 win over the San Jose State Spartans. Jack Layne threw for 138 yards, with no touchdowns and no interceptions on 14-of-22 passing (63.6%) for the Lobos in that matchup against the Wolf Pack. He also added eight carries for 71 yards. Scottre Humphrey totaled 58 rushing yards on 13 carries (4.5 yards per carry), scoring one touchdown on the ground. Thomas totaled five receptions for 56 yards (averaging 11.2 per catch) against the Wolf Pack. Barnes’ performance for the Aggies against the Spartans included 22-of-31 passing for 326 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions. He rushed 16 times for 54 yards and one touchdown. Miles Davis carried the ball 10 times for 50 yards (5.0 yards per attempt). Anthony Garcia caught three passes on five targets for 121 yards (40.3 yards per reception), and scored one touchdown.
