The Boston Bruins are in action on Saturday, Oct. 25 as they host the Colorado Avalanche at TD Garden in Boston.

Both teams come into this matchup on losing streaks, but the six-game skid the Bruins are on is a bit more concerning. Now the squad goes into its third straight home game with a three-game home losing streak that also includes 4-3 losses to the Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers that book ended a three-game road trip, that featured a 4-1 loss in Colorado.
The Avalanche had a pair of goals from Nathan MacKinnon in that contest, and an empty-netter from Martin Necas, who are tied for the team lead with 6 goals through eight games. Necas has a slight edge in assists at six to five, but they are the team leaders in points with 12 and 11. But since the win over Boston, the squad has dropped a game in overtime and another in a shootout, moving the team’s record to 5-0-3. The Avalanche and Las Vegas Golden Knights are the only clubs who have not yet lost in regulation, and Colorado is the points leader in the entire NHL currently with 13.
The Bruins will need a big game from their leading scorer, right wing David Pastrnak, who has 5 goals and seven assists through nine contests as they sit at 3-6-0. Pavel Zacha has seven assists from the center and a pair of gals and Morgan Geekie has 5 goals and Elias Lindholm has 3 goals and four assists as they attempt to get a much-needed win.
