Parker vs Wardley undercard takes major hit as chief support pulls out

BRITISH light-heavyweight champion Lewis Edmondson has pulled out of Saturday’s bout against Ezra Taylor after a” hip injury” following the pair’s heated face-off.
Edmondson, 29, reportedly suffered the blow during the final stages of training, leaving Queensberry Promotions scrambling to find a replacement opponent for 31-year-old Taylor.

The British title clash was set as chief support to the Joseph Parker and Fabio Wardley heavyweight headliner at London‘s O2 Arena.
Edmondson 11-1 (3 KOs) and unbeaten Taylor 12-0 (8 KOs) have been involved in a heated rivalry in the build-up to their clash.
The two had an intense face-off that saw their rivalry hit boiling point with Edmondson threatening to: “Keep punching your head in for 12 rounds.”
To which Taylor retorted: “Until you gas out in five seconds.”

The pair exchanged in a brutal 20-minute face-off shared by Frank Warren‘s Queensberry Promotions that saw the pair insult each other until a mediator told them to “save it for 25th October”.
British champion Edmondson was set to defend his Lonsdale belt against Nottingham-born Taylor this Saturday after he dethroned Dan Azeez a year ago.
Since the victory, Edmondson has gone one-on-one against Oluwatosin Kejawa, which he won by unanimous decision.
He fought Daniel Lapin, on the undercard for the Oleksandr Usyk – Daniel Dubois rematch in July, which he lost by majority decision, ending his undefeated record.
