Fury’s wife Paris wants him to stay retired
But the unpredictable Gypsy King has continued to tease and then retract the thought of a return to the ring.
His promoter Frank Warren revealed a comeback next year was likely – with Fury keen on a trilogy bout with Usyk.
But Warren admitted Fury’s wife Paris and brothers are in agreement when it comes to the 37-year-old remaining retired.
He said on the BBC: “We’ll wait until next year and we’ll see what happens.

“He’s indicated he wants to fight. The fight he told me he definitely wants to do is Usyk again.
“The fight everybody talks about is obviously (Anthony) Joshua and I have no problem with either provided he wants to fight.
“I know his wife doesn’t want him to fight, his brothers don’t want him to fight. So that’s going to be his choice.
“But if he is going to fight, I’d much rather he does it now rather than come back in three or four years.”

Fury’s manager Spencer Brown added: “Will he fight again? My personal opinion, yes. That’s my personal opinion but I’m not Tyson Fury.
“Does his family want him to fight again? Probably no. If you speak to Shane or Hughie, what’s the point? Because they love him dearly.
“I love him dearly but in my opinion he’s got an itch he’s got to scratch, Tyson.
“And, I still think he’s got a bee in his bonnet about Usyk, he’d like to fight him more than anybody.
“And of course there’s a lot of people courting him with serious poke. Serious money.”
Usyk, 38, looks set to retire after his next fight while father-of-seven Fury was instead lined up for an overdue blockbuster with Joshua, 36.
But the two-time champ appeared to slam shut the idea of making another comeback – for any amount of money.
Fury told his Furocity drinks company: “I’m 37 years old, I’ve been punched for the last 25 years, what do I want to go back to boxing for?
“It used to be for the money, the titles, but now I’ve got more money than I can spend, I’ve got unlimited amounts of belts and titles, and does it make me any happier? No.
“Was the chase better than the victory? Yes. The climb was better than the mountain peak, to be fair. Always the case.
“I could go back to boxing at any given time, but I just don’t want to.
“I’ve got no interest in that clamour or the limelight, or to go get punched again, I’m not interested, it doesn’t do anything for me.
“You could offer me £1bn today, and it wouldn’t move the needle, because I’ve gone past that point of caring about what other people think.
“Boxing doesn’t take any prisoners, it only takes casualties. So for me to be sat here, all my faculties in order, won every belt, made loads of money, and not got a scratch on me, I’ve done really well there.
“But I don’t want to tempt fate. I don’t want to keep going back and back to the well because how many times can you keep doing it without getting brain damage or whatever else?

“Not being able to walk in a straight line, it’d all be pointless then.”
