The holidays in Oregon can be a joyous time, but The Old Farmer’s Almanac knows that scattered weather patterns and travel over mountain passes can make driving during the holidays hazardous.
The Almanac has released its Thanksgiving 2025 Travel Weather Map, predicting what weather conditions across Oregon might be during Thanksgiving week.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac gave its weather forecasts for 18 different regions in the United States, including for Oregon.
Oregon’s western half lies in the Pacific Northwest region, and its eastern half lies in the Intermountain region.
Here’s what The Old Farmer’s Almanac predicts the weather will be like in Oregon during Thanksgiving.
What weather does The Old Farmer’s Almanac predict for Thanksgiving in western Oregon?
The weather in the Pacific Northwest, where the western half of Oregon is found, is predicted to be rainy.
The rain will be lighter in the northern parts of Oregon, but heavier in the southern parts, according to The Old Farmer’s Almanac.
“Expect slick roads and reduced visibility at times, so holiday travelers should plan for damp drives and pack patience,” the Almanac said.
What weather does The Old Farmer’s Almanac predict for Thanksgiving in eastern Oregon?
The eastern half of Oregon, which lies in the Intermountain region, is expected to experience colder conditions, mixed with snow and rain, during Thanksgiving week.
“While conditions vary by elevation, travelers should anticipate occasional disruptions—especially in mountain passes and higher terrain,” the Almanac said.
When is Thanksgiving 2025?
Thanksgiving is on Thursday, Nov. 27, this year.
