Despite a shocking transformation for his latest role, Netflix fans agree that Jacob Elordi is still “hot” in his new, unsettling film.
Jacob, who rose to fame through The Kissing Booth series and HBO’s Euphoria, has made a name for himself in the film industry with standout performances in Priscilla and Saltburn.
The 28-year-old actor now stars in Guillermo del Toro’s Netflix adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, where he plays the creature while Oscar Isaac takes on the role of Victor Frankenstein. While Frankenstein premiered in theaters on Friday, October 24, Netflix subscribers will have to wait until Friday, November 7, for its streaming debut.

In the meantime, Netflix has released a spine-chilling image of Elordi fully transformed into Frankenstein’s monster, leaving fans in disbelief, reports the Express.

Netflix shared the photo on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the caption: “Jacob Elordi as The Creature. Frankenstein, a film by Guillermo del Toro, now playing in select theaters and on Netflix November 7.”
One viewer responded, “Wow! Did not even recognize him! Jacob Elordi.” Another commented, “He is going to be terrifying and amazing,” while a third noted, “That casting is wild Jacob Elordi as The Creature?”
“Del Toro’s version is already giving epic vibes-can’t wait to see his take on the iconic monster!”
However, some fans have criticized Netflix for allegedly making Frankenstein’s monster “sexy” through this particular casting choice, as the Aussie actor is well known for his good looks.
“Of course they have to make him kinda sexy to get the female viewer,” one fan pointed out. Another viewer chimed in, “Excellent make-up. He is both hideous but attractive, perfect for a gothic romance.”
Fans were shocked by his transformation
One fan joked, “Jacob as The Creature? I’m ready for a monster under my bed vibe.
“Death never looked so good”, another user shared, while someone else simply stated, “He’s still hot though.”
There was even a comparison to Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise in one of his other hit films, with a fan noting, “His look reminds me of the decaying Tom Cruise as Lestat in the Interview with a Vampire movie.”
A Netflix enthusiast agreed, “Tom Cruise did it first”, sharing an image of Cruise dressed up as the vampire in question.
Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein is now showing in theaters and will premiere on Netflix on Friday, November 7.
