TWENTYMAN: Breaking down the Lions’ remaining games

Week 15 at Los Angeles Rams

Detroit’s only west coast trip of the season is against quarterback Matthew Stafford and a talented Rams team.

Twentyman: This is probably the most disruptive defensive front the Lions will face all season. Los Angeles’ 26.0 sacks on the year are second only to Denver (34.0).

Week 16 vs. Pittsburgh Steelers

Former division rival quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns to Detroit. Can the Lions close out their regular season home slate with a sweep of the AFC North?

Twentyman: Rodgers will be 42 years old at kickoff for this one and is still playing some pretty good football with a passer rating of 105.0 with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions through Week 7.

Week 17 at Minnesota Vikings

Detroit closes out the regular season with two division road games starting with a Christmas Day matchup on Netflix in front of a national audience.

Twentyman: These late-season games against the Vikings have meant so much the last couple years as Detroit has clinched their last two division titles with wins over the Vikings late in the year. U.S. Bank stadium has one of the best atmospheres in football and is a tough place to play. What will be on the line for both teams Week 17?

January football in Chicago. Wind and weather could certainly play a factor as Chicago tries to avenge a 31-point defeat in Detroit Week 2.

Twentyman: This is a much-improved Bears team that has rolled off four straight wins. Can they keep it rolling and be serious playoff contenders Week 18? This matchup could be fun if playoff bids and seeding are at stake to end the regular season.
