Animal lovers have shed tears over a beloved pet reuniting with his owner after her vacation.
Gapcio the German shepherd lives in the United Kingdom with his owner, Klaudia, and the duo do everything together. Klaudia’s TikTok account, @gapciofior, tells of their daily walks, trips on the London Underground, swimming sessions, and plenty of cuddles. But, sometimes, it is impossible to bring your dog everywhere, and when Klaudia went on a recent vacation, it is safe to say Gapcio was missing her.
In a video posted on September 20, which has been viewed more than 587,000 times, Klaudia showed the moment she went to pick Gapcio up after returning from her trip, writing: “POV [point of view]: You just came to pick up your dog after being on holiday.”
Klaudia walks to a front door and opens the letter box, calling Gapcio’s name into it—and, within a second, the dog is sprinting down the stairs and at the door, shoving his nose through the little slot and howling with excitement The door opens, and out comes Gapcio, howling and whining, almost mimicking Klaudia’s high-pitched “Hello!” as she greets him.

Gapcio jumps, runs, howls, and can’t get close enough to his owner as he realizes she is home at last. Klaudia captioned the post, along with a love heart: “My big baby.”
TikTok users were in tears, awarding the post more than 108,000 likes, as one wrote with a crying emoji: “The aggressive sniff!”
“He couldn’t believe his smell,” another posted, as a third laughed at how Gapcio “almost spoke” with excitement.
And as one viewer summed it up: “Returning to your baby pets [is] the best feeling in the world.”
Another posted that they could “tell the breed before you opened the door,” with a third agreeing: “I knew it was a German shepherd.”
German shepherds are known for their courage, confidence and smarts, as well as their affection and loyalty toward their owners, according to the American Kennel Club.
In 2024, German shepherds were in fourth place in the AKC’s annual list of the most-popular dog breeds in America, behind only the French bulldog, Labrador retriever, and golden retriever.
