The film garnered positive reviews, with ScreenRant calling the film an “endearing, heartwarming dramedy” that “beautifully celebrates the idea that friendship and compassion can be healing”.

David Perin added on Google Reviews: “Movies with all star casts are one thing. However, this ensemble is on an entirely different plane.

“The film is headlined by some of the premier actors of our time, and those who are less well known certainly hold their own with the major players.

“The performances of Laura Linney, Maggie Smith, and Kathy Bates are simply masterful, and although the trailer and the great cast drew me into watching the film, it was so much more than I expected.”

Many praised Smith for her performance, with Rae H George adding: “This was a sweet story filled with sadness and ultimately redemption for a group of multigenerational women in a small town in Ireland in the early sixties.
