Strike threat to Spring Carnival as cash dries up

Supermarkets, petrol stations, restaurants and race horse bookies in Victoria may be unable to make change next weekend as cash-transit workers pull the trigger on four days of stoppages and indefinite work bans at monopoly distributor Armaguard.
The Transport Workers Union on Thursday notified Linfox that Armaguard’s 150 Victorian and Tasmanian members will ban overtime and weekend work indefinitely from Wednesday onwards, and refuse to work at all on Friday next week and the following Monday.
