There will be a very apt star guest in the Strictly Come Dancing ballroom as Icons Week comes to an end on Sunday. And the person in question is a huge star of stage and screen – Rachel Zegler.

One of the themes that Strictly fans now look forward to every year, Icons Week saw some fantastic transformations on Saturday night, with highlights of the special episode including Vicky Pattison becoming Cheryl for her Couple’s Choice, bookies favourite to win George Clarke morphing into Harry Styles and La Voix closing the show in style as Cher. After an evening of dazzling performances, things were very close on the leaderboard, with just seven points separating first and last place and four couples tied on the same score of 28 out of 40.

With that increasing the potential of a shock outcome, Strictly fans voiced their concerns about this week’s result and, as soon as this week’s spoiler emerged just before 11.30pm on Saturday, the reaction to it was huge. The Strictly results will play out in full from 7.15pm on BBC One on Sunday and, following in the footsteps of stars like Zara Larsson and Lang Lang, who have already appeared on the show this series, Rachel Zegler will entertain this week.

And the song she is performing couldn’t be more appropriate for Icons Week, as she will be singing Don’t Cry for Me Argentina from Evita.

Who is Rachel Zegler?

Star of both stage and screen, Rachel has seen her star rise to new heights over the last few years, thanks to taking the lead role in Disney’s live action remake of Snow White, in which she also sang musical numbers, including fan favourite Waiting on a Wish. And, over the summer, the American actress’ voice was heard almost every night in the West End, as she brought the house down playing Eva Peron in Jamie Lloyd’s reimagined version of Evita at the London Palladium.

As well as packing out the theatre itself every night, Rachel’s performance of Don’t Cry For Me Argentina on its outside balcony had crowds gathering to watch it, come rain or shine. Following the show’s successful run at the iconic venue, Rachel returned to the Palladium for a solo show, which quickly sold out.

Another of Rachel’s most famous roles to date is playing María in Steven Spielberg’s film adaptation of West Side Story, with the 24-year-old winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture.
