Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco injured vs Jets in NFL Week 8

Cincinnati Bengals loss to New York Jets: Zac Taylor postgame comments
Cincinnati Bengals head coach Zac Taylor speaks to the media following Sunday’s 39-38 loss to the New York Jets.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Flacco suffered an apparent shoulder injury during the fourth quarter of the team’s NFL Week 8 loss to the New York Jets, one of Flacco’s former teams, at Paycor Stadium.
Medical personnel looked on as Flacco threw passes on the sideline. Backup Jake Browning warmed up.
Flacco appeared to take a big hit during a Bengals’ drive in the fourth quarter. He winced as he threw passes on the sideline, and went to the locker room.
Flacco returned to the sideline with 1:54 left, shortly after the Jets took a 39-38 lead, and started throwing warm-up passes.
Flacco did play on the Bengals’ final offensive drive of the game, which resulted in a turnover on downs.
Flacco and the Jets lost to the Bengals the last time the two teams met, Sept. 25, 2022, at MetLife Stadium.
Flacco, acquired Oct. 7 in a trade with the Cleveland Browns, was making his third start at QB for the Bengals. He replaced Jake Browning, who started the previous three games.
Flacco was asked after leading the Bengals to a win against Pittsburgh on Thursday Night Football about how he’s navigating being a dad, during what has been a crazy month of October for the 40-year-old.
“I tell people all the time I used to see guys sitting at a bar by themselves, or just sitting by themselves eating, and grabbing a little meal,” Flacco said. “And I’m like, ‘Man, I feel so bad for that guy.’ You always want to go join them. And now I realize that dude was in heaven.”
Flacco discussed Oct. 10 whether he thinks he can help lead the team to the postseason. Flacco also acknowledged that he didn’t have the trade on his “list of things that were gonna happen.”
Flacco led the Browns to a win against the Packers in Week 3, Flacco’s only win in four starts before Dillon Gabriel replaced him.
