Steelers’ Aaron Rodgers Has High Praise For Packers’ Superstar Defender

Sunday night’s battle between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Green Bay Packers will feature multiple future Hall of Famers, including two of the best defenders in the sport in T.J. Watt and Micah Parsons.

Parsons is off to a good start with the Packers after being traded from the Dallas Cowboys in late August. The four-time Pro Bowler has 5.5 sacks in six games and is coming off his best game of the season after notching three sacks last week against the Arizona Cardinals.

Aaron Rodgers has faced Parsons before in 2022, so he knows what he’s in for. Parsons recorded a season-high seven tackles during that game, including five solo tackles.

“I went against Micah before. He’s a phenomenal player, he’s future Hall of Famer, he’s a game-wrecker, and you gotta know where he’s at at all times,” Rodgers told reporters earlier this week.

Rodgers compared facing Parsons to facing Watt and the need to have multiple players blocking them.

The four-time NFL MVP has done a great job avoiding pressure this season, especially for a 41-year-old. He’s taken only two sacks over his last four games combined, getting good pass protection from the Steelers’ offensive line.

Rodgers will need to maintain that high level of pocket awareness and keep getting the ball out quickly if he wants to avoid running into Parsons on Sunday evening. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh’s offensive line will need to prioritize slowing Parsons down and keeping him out of the backfield.
