‘It’s Insane’: A He-Man Movie Star Hypes Up Nicholas Galitzine’s Unbelievable Transformation

By the power of Grayskull, the world will finally get a blockbuster movie involving He-Man and both his friends and his enemies, when Masters of the Universe collides with box offices worldwide next summer. The titular hero for which the franchise is named, He-Man will be portrayed on film by Nicholas Galitzine, whose transformation for the role has his co-stars speechless.

One such stunned co-star is none other than Morena Baccarin, set to become The Sorceress in Masters of the Universe. Seeing Galitzine morph from his usual, normal frame to an intensely chiseled one, to convince audiences he is Prince Adam Glenn a.k.a. He-Man, had Baccarin wide-eyed with disbelief.

“It’s insane,” she said in an interview with Variety. “I saw him on set, and he’d been training for months and months and months. I was like, ‘Oh, my god, how did you do that?'”

This, of course, bodes extremely well for what director Travis Knight and writer Chris Butler are cooking for both longtime fans of the franchise and newcomers they’re hoping to lock in after the film’s release in June 2026. It’s an endeavor that certainly doesn’t lack in the area of big-name talent, having also secured Jared Leto as He-Man’s archenemy, Skeletor, as well as Alison Brie (Evil-Lyn), Kristin Wiig (Roboto) and even Idris Elba (Duncan, Man-at-Arms).

With that level of artistic firepower at the helm, the expectation is that Masters of the Universe will be more of an event to remember from Amazon MGM Studios than simply a movie to casually watch, or at least that is the hope of all involved, and those impatiently waiting to head to the theater to enjoy it.

Prince Glenn, twin brother of She-Ra, another of Mattel’s legendary cartoon action franchises, looks to The Sorceress, played by Baccarin (of Deadpool fame), to watch over Castle Grayskull and to protect everything within it — including its most guarded secrets. One of the most powerful forces in the Universe, she has few limitations, but one of them is that her powers are relegated to her presence within the Castle, transforming into the falcon Zoar, able only to telepathically communicate.

It seems there is no better opportunity than now, in what has become the golden age of superhero cinema, for He-Man and the Masters of the Universe to take their rightful place in the ethos of cinematic comic success, Mattel Studios potentially challenging both Marvel Studios and DC Studios in the process. That’s a tall task, to say the very least, but one Galitzine is apparently primed to take on without fear, and if what Baccarin says about his real-life transformation is true, he does indeed have the power.

Masters of the Universe is scheduled for release in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026
