NFL trade deadline: Rams reporting among teams ‘making calls’ for a CB

The Los Angeles Rams still have a week before the NFL trade deadline, but it sounds as if Les Snead and Sean McVay are already scheming up some deals.
The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported over the week that L.A. is one of a few teams “making calls” for a cornerback ahead of the Nov. 4 headline. The Ravens, Colts and Lions are reportedly the other teams inquiring about the position.
This makes a lot of sense for the Rams. The team’s current trio of Darious Williams, Cobie Durant and Emmanuel Forbes Jr. is fine, but has been exploited at times since Akhello Witherspon broke his clavicle earlier this year. McVay has repeatedly said the team is comfortable with their players, but it never hurts to add more talent.
The Rams are tied for the top of the NFC West, too. They need more defensive help to maintain that position as they head out of their bye week and into the rest of the 2025 season.
Who could be available? There are several good cornerbacks on teams looking to sell, and the Rams could be buyers if the price is right.
