A man and woman have been killed in an underground mine explosion in western NSW.
Two people were reported to have been critically injured in the explosion at a mine on Endeavor Mine Rd at Cobar, about 450km east of Broken Hill, at about 3.45am on Tuesday.
A man was confirmed dead when police arrived at the scene.
Two women were brought to the surface after the explosion.
One of them has since died.
The second woman was flown to hospital suffering hearing damage and shock.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner and assist NSW SafeWork in its investigation.
