Farioli: “Most comments were emotional, not about football”

Francesco Farioli spoke at a press conference previewing the Moreirense–FC Porto match, scheduled for Monday at 8:15 PM and corresponding to the ninth round of the Primeira Liga.

What do you think of Moreirense and their main strengths? “They are the team with the best home record, they’ve won all their games, it’s definitely a match that will demand a lot from us. They are a very well-organized and well-coached team, with players ready to put the coach’s ideas into practice. We have to be prepared to compete and to restart our journey in the league.”

How important was the connection with the fans and could that be a problem if FC Porto loses in the league? “We win, draw, and lose in football, of course we always try to do everything to win, that’s what the club demands. But I think the fans were with us and appreciated our performance there. I saw many comments after the game and many of them were emotional from your side and not so much within the reality of the game. I saw a team that tried to play, with a lot of courage, and that played against a very defensive team. We pressed, defended well, and attacked quite well, and I’ve already mentioned how good Nottingham is. I am very critical, as you know, after the 3-0 against Rio Ave, I went to the press conference to receive a lot of praise and I was furious inside, because I thought we didn’t play well. In the last game, we were really good, in a match decided by two penalties.”
