Neil Lennon says Kasper Schmeichel was going ‘ballistic’ at Celtic trio against Hearts

Celtic will want to put that Hearts nightmare behind them as quickly as possible.
The only issue is that Celtic fans have been used to Kasper Schmeichel picking the ball up from the back of the net, and that shouldn’t be the case.
Celtic deserved to lose to Hearts, just like they did against Dundee the week before, and any other dropped points this season.
And, unfortunately, there was more comical defending from Brendan Rodgers’ side on Sunday, and it left Schmeichel raging.

Kasper Schmeichel was going ‘ballistic’ at Dane Murray, Benjamin Nygren and Arne Engels
After Dane Murray’s comical own goal, Celtic hit back through Callum McGregor and went into the break level, before Alexandros Kyziridis’ strike from the edge of the box summed everything up.
Speaking on Sky Sports Football (26/10/25), Neil Lennon slammed Celtic for how they allowed the Hearts attacker to cut inside onto his right foot and then guide the ball into the near corner.
Lennon pointed towards the Celtic goalkeeper, and how he was going ‘ballistic’ at the men in front of him, Murray, Nygren and Engels, who were very soft in how they defended it all.
“There are two of them there, it’s absolutely awful,” said Lennon about Hearts’ second goal. “He is coming into bodies.
“Obviously, Nygren, he has done him with a little step. The next one comes, and that’s Engels. He stands with his hands behind his back, and then Dane Murray could stick a leg out. I think he thinks it’s going wide.
“You have seen Kasper Schmeichel’s reaction. He is going ballistic. You still have plenty of bodies around him. Just get a block on – I still think Dane Murray can get a touch on that. I think Engels should get over, get a block on and get close to it, anyway. Once he does Nygren, the next one has to come.”
How many goals have Celtic conceded this season?
With Cameron Carter-Vickers out injured for the long term, and he will do well to return this season, it puts Celtic in a spot of bother.
Things aren’t great as they are, from an attacking perspective, so the last thing Celtic needs is to start conceding goals for fun.
