Explaining the QTCinderella and vanillamace drama

Blaire “QTCinderella” and Emily “vanillamace” recently joined together for a stream that has led to fresh drama between the two streamers and their respective fans.

QTCinderella is a famous streamer most notably associated with The Streamer Awards event, and like many in the streaming world, she has at times found herself embroiled in drama online. The latest example has QTCinderella under fire after she shared some views live on stream that fellow streamer vanillamace would go on to publicly call her out for.

Why did vanillamace have a falling out with QTCinderella?

QTCinderella recently took to stream to talk about why she willingly associates with “bigots,” and the streamer’s reasoning has led to a falling out with vanillamace.

Katie “RealKatieB”, QTCinderella, and vanillamace were streaming together recently when things took a turn for the dramatic. QTCinderella went on a monologue through which she discussed why she continues to be in contact with some individuals who hold views that she agrees are bigoted. The streamer stated that she would rather work to change the views of those people rather than cut them out of her life and end her association with them.

Some onlookers were quick to agree with QTCinderella, while others felt that the way she delivered her opinion just didn’t sit well. QT expressed that those being targeted by bigots should stay away from them, but that she believes “love conquers hate,” further justifying her maintaining associations with those whose views don’t align with her own. Many have taken issue with this particular sequence, equating it to “victim blaming.”

Some fans put forward the belief that both Katie and vanillamace seemed visibly uncomfortable during the discussion, and that discomfort seemed to be confirmed in the aftermath.

QTCinderella
received backlash
from live chatters instantly, and she subsequently told the other streamers involved to delete the VODs of the stream, presumably so they couldn’t be passed around or clipped. All VODs of the stream were indeed taken down, but clips have already been shared across social forums as onlookers dissect every word spoken by QTCinderella. While the streamer may have wanted to avoid
adverse effects
from the incident, they were coming, and there wasn’t much she could do about it.

Katie tried to calm her chat down after QTCinderella ended her monologue, while vanillamace became emotional and started crying as the new drama took hold.

vanillamace later discussed the incident on her own
stream, making clear that she didn’t agree with anything that QTCinderella had said. She elaborated that people who know her “know how she is” and “what she stands for.” The content creator then announced that she is taking a break from “everything and everyone,” presumably meaning that she’ll be staying away from streaming for the near future.

Viewers’ reaction to vanillamace’s public renunciation of QTCinderella’s words has been divided. Some have commended her for coming out and speaking against something she disagrees with despite the words coming from a close friend. Others suggest that she should have said something to stop QTCinderella at the time, rather than waiting until later to expressly disagree.

This is far from the first time QTCinderella has found herself involved in
such drama, but the involvement of her friend vanillamace seems to have made this latest instance sting a bit more than most.
