Dillon Brooks joins Jalen Green on Suns’ injury updates for matchup with Jazz

SALT LAKE CITY – Jalen Green is ruled out again with a right hamstring strain for Monday’s game, Oct. 27, against the Utah Jazz (1-1) at Delta Center to conclude a three-game road trip.
Dillon Brooks is listed as questionable with right groin soreness, while Mark Williams isn’t on the injury report after missing Saturday’s 133-111 loss to the Denver Nuggets with right knee injury management.
Green has yet to play this season in his first year with the Suns (1-2). He initially strained his right hamstring in training camp leading up to the preseason opener, Oct. 3, against the Los Angeles Lakers in Palm Desert, California.
Green aggravated it during Phoenix’s weeklong stay in China for two games against the Brooklyn Nets. Suns coach Jordan Ott has been pleased with Green’s progress.
The Suns return home to play the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, Oct. 29.
Green didn’t miss a game for the Houston Rockets in his last two seasons with the team. He averaged 20.1 points in four seasons with the Rockets.
The Suns acquired Brooks, Green and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 draft, Khaman Maluach, from Houston in exchange for Kevin Durant.
Brooks has started all three games for the Suns this season. He’s averaging a career-high 19.3 points on a career-low 37.3% shooting.
Brooks leads the Suns in field goal attempts (22 of 59) and 3-point hoists (9 of 31). The fiery forward is coming off hitting a career-best 39.7% of his 3s in 75 games last season.
Williams sat out Saturday’s game in what was the second of a back-to-back, but is available Monday.
Williams didn’t see any preseason action, but he played the first two games of the regular season, as the Suns had him on an intentional plan to be ready for the start of the season.
Williams played only 106 games in his first three NBA seasons due to multiple injuries.
He came off the bench in games against the Sacramento Kings in the season opener and the Oct. 24 matchup against the Los Angeles Clippers that began a three-game road trip.
Williams started 41 of the 44 games he played last season for the Charlotte Hornets.
Ott said it was part of the plan for Williams to sit out Saturday’s game, but he was optimistic that the 7-footer would be available for Monday’s matchup.
The Suns traded Vasa Micic and two first-round picks to the Hornets during the 2025 draft to land Williams and a second-round selection. Williams averaged 15.3 points and 10.2 rebounds last season.
