Jays’ Springer exits Game 3 of World Series with injury
Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer exited Game 3 of the World Series on Monday in the seventh inning after appearing to get hurt on a swing.
Springer swung at the first pitch from Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Justin Wrobleski and immediately grabbed at the right side of his body and walked towards the dugout.
The training staff briefly attended to Springer before he was removed from the game and replaced by Ty France.
The 36-year-old was 0-for-3 with two strikeouts before leaving the game with the injury.
Springer was also forced out of Game 5 of the American League Championship Series against the Seattle Mariners after he was hit in the knee by a pitch from righty Bryan Woo.
