Why Isiah Kiner-Falefa is in for Blue Jays’ Bo Bichette in World Series Game 3

The Toronto Blue Jays pulled Bo Bichette.
Will it backfire?
It was Game 3 of the World Series, and Bichette had just reached base with a 5-4 lead. John Schneider chose to pinch run.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa came in, and he resided in the cleanup spot the rest of the way.

Why is Isiah Kiner-Falefa in for Bo Bichette?
Schneider chose to make the change with a one-run lead.
With Bichette coming back from a left knee sprain, he isn’t as good a runner or defender as IKF.
So the Blue Jays wanted to close out their advantage, and IKF was a logical substitution.
Things looked a little different when Shohei Ohtani hit a game-tying home run.
But Kiner-Falefa did what he could with one out in the ninth, working a walk out of the cleanup spot.
Kiner-Falefa is tough to strike out, and he’s a very versatile ballplayer. If the game goes to extra innings, he’ll be useful to have out there.
The Blue Jays’ lineup could still miss Bichette’s stronger bat, though.
We’ll just have to wait and see.
