[HOUR ONE]

-Joe Tessitore introduced the show as a drone flew over a neighborhood in Anaheim, Calif. and then a shot of the arena. They showed Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss sharing a coffee drink backstage. Then Penta striking a pose as he rolled his bag backstage. They cut to the arena. As the camera panned the audience, Tessitore said, “This is the type of card that brings a sellout here.”

-A video package aired on Jey Uso winning a battle royal last week on Raw to earn a match against no. 1 contender C.M. Punk for the vacant World Heavyweight Title.

-They showed the belt in the ring. Jey Uso then made his full ring entrance. He “eyed the prize,” as Tessitore put it, as Jey entered the ring. Tessitore said it’s been six months since that “magic night at WrestleMania” and he wants it again. They “ran it back.” Fans were into it, but when the music stopped nearly ten full minutes into the show at this point, fans loudly chanted, “C.M. Punk!”

Jey said he has a lot of people in his ears these days including Roman Reigns and Jimmy Uso, plus “everyone’s mama.” He said he doesn’t give a damn what they think about him, though. He said it’s just him who is going to be in the ring against Punk on Saturday night and he’s going to become a two-time champion. Punk’s music interrupted Jey.

Punk encouraged his song to play again. He cut it off a few seconds in. “Alright, alright, I apologize for stealing your stuff,” Punk said. Jey winced and seemed a bit irritated. Punk said, “Four letters, one word,” he said. He pointed at his hoodie and said, “Punk.” Fans cheered. This is now 13 minutes into the hour, by the way. Punk said he’s happy Jey is listening to himself now.

He said he likes Jey so it makes it harder for him to lace it up against him. He said he always listens to himself, but that’s harder to do when you’re losing or about to lose. He said he had a lot of questions tonight, but Jey’s body language and his action last week answer a lot of them. He said he watched him throw his brother over the top rope. He told fans not to boo that because it’s well within the rules of a battle royal. He said Jey showed everyone that he’s got what it takes. He asked Jey how far he was willing to go. He said he needs to be champion like he needs air in his lungs. He said he knows how far he has to go, but does Jey.

He told Jey he will realize against him he’s in a situation he can’t “yeet yourself out of.” He asked how far was he willing to go. Jey stared him down and tried to look brave. Jey said, “Let’s go, Punk.” He said he’s been in deep waters before and he knows how to swim. He said he gets the fans behind him and he’ll paint a picture that he’s the bad buy. “Screw you, Punk,” he said. With increased volume and intensity, he said he will show him who the best in the world is. He ended with, “Four letters, one word!” Fans yelled, “Yeet!” Jey’s music played and he leaned into Punk.

(Keller’s Analysis: Nice segment. Both wrestlers felt true to themselves there. Punk is confident and an alpha on the mic, but he stopped short of being arrogant. Jey seems like someone who is trying to overcome insecurity and prove he is good enough.)

-They cut to Tessitore and Wade Barrett at ringside. Tessitore touted a sellout of 13,812. A clip aired of A.J. Styles & Dragon Lee winning the World Tag Team Titles last week.

-Backstage, Dominik Mysterio walked up to Finn Balor, J.D. McDonagh, Rozanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez and said he they had a problem. He said G.M. Adam Pearce has a vendetta against him by booking Penta vs. Rusev and he has to face the winner at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Raquel said, “Well, if you weren’t such a habitual cheater.” Dom said he’s never ever cheated. He asked what they’re going to do. McDonagh said he and Balor are focused on regaining the tag titles. Balor said Dom cost them the belts. McDonagh said he’s on his own. Dom got on the phone and said he needed their help. Raquel told Perez to focus on themselves, not Dom.

-They showed Nikki Bella arriving backstage.

-Penta’s ring entrance took place. [c]

-They showed scenes of a thrill ride park. Then they showed O’Shea Jackson Jr. in the crowd. Then L.A. Galaxy players.

(1) PENTA vs. RUSEV – No. 1 contendership for Intercontinental Title

The end of Rusev’s ring entrance aired. The bell rang 27 minutes into the hour. Penta ducked a charging Rusev. Rusev punched a diving Penta out of mid-air. Penta kicked him off the ring apron and then landed a running flip dive onto Rusev at ringside. Back in the ring, he landed a springboard DDT for a near fall. Rusev rolled to ringside to stall and regroup. Fans booed.

When Penta went after him, Rusev took control and battered him at ringside. He then hit a short-arm clothesline. Back in the ring, he landed a running splash in the corner. Barrett said the entire locker room doesn’t want to face Rusev. Penta came back with a back cracker for a near fall at 3:00. Penta kicked Rusev to the floor and then went after Rusev at ringside. Rusev lifted a charging Penta and threw him into the ringside steps. They cut to a break at 4:00. [c]

Rusev tore at Penta’s mask at ringside. Penta fired back with a series of kicks. When Penta leaped off the top rope, Rusev kicked him out of mid-air with a Machka for a near fall at 8:00. Rusev then stomped Penta. Penta countered an Accolade attempt with a Penta Driver for a very near fall. Fans chanted, “Ref, you suck!” As they sat up and exchanged strikes, Rayo and Bravo Americano attacked both as El Grande Americano observed.

WINNER: Double DQ in 10:00.

-Barrett said that is who Dom called. He said it’s genius because this means there is no no. 1 contender. Bravo and Rayo threw Rusev into the ringside steps. El Grande postured. Rusev returned to the ring and tossed Rayo and Bravo out of the ring, then stared down El Grande. Penta then re-entered and attacked El Grande. When he set up a Penta Driver, Rayo and Bravo pulled him to safety. Rusev stood menacingly behind Penta, but Penta turned in time.

(Keller’s Analysis: Although it’s obvious, it’ll be fun to see Dom’s reaction when Pearce makes it a Triple Threat match with both Rusev and Penta at SNME.)

-Jackie Redmond interviewed L.A. Knight about what’s next after coming up short in the battle royal last week. He said he didn’t come out with what he needed. He said he doesn’t have a title around his waist, but he will do what he needs to do. He said he’s used to doing the hard thing. He said whoever wins, he will come for them. [c]

-Tessitore got in some plugs.

-Bron Breakker told Paul Heyman he trusts him, but they should have been in the battle royal last week and destroyed everyone. Heyman said he understands and loves his idea, but there would be a consequence to it. He said Pearce could have suspended all three of them without pay and made it his life’s mission to keep him away from the World Title. Heyman said Punk and Jey are going to beat each other half to death, and one of them will show up on Raw as a victim looking to be victimized by a true victimizer. He said if he beats the one man who shares that view, his path to the World Title is clear.  Breakker said he wants a match with that man tonight. Heyman said he already got the match arranged, and he’d face Knight later. Breakker and Bronson Reed smiled.

-They went to Tessitore and Barrett at ringside. Tessitore reacted to the previous segment. Tessitore then shifted to a video package on Asuka, who made her main roster debut ten years ago.

-Backstage, Pearce was on the phone. Balor and McDonagh approached. Pearce said he had something to tell Dom. Balor and McDonagh said they wanted a rematch for the tag titles. Pearce said one of them had to face Sheamus first, because Sheamus was upset they eliminated him last week. McDonagh said he’d rip off Sheamus’s head and then come back to ask for that tag match.

-Nikki Bella made her ring entrance. [c]

-They showed Christela Alonzo at ringside from “Upper Classy” on Netflix.

(2) NIKKI BELLA vs. ROXANNE PEREZ (w/Raquel Roderiguez)

The bell rang 57 minutes into the hour. Raquel interfered early and clotheslined Nikki over the top rope as Perez distracted the ref.

[HOUR TWO]

They cut to an early break with Perez in control. [c]

Perez sent Nikki throat-first into the middle rope. Nikki came back with a spinebuster for a two count seconds later. Raquel stood on the ring apron. Perez rolled up a distracted Nikki and put her feet on the ropes, but the ref saw it and stopped his count. They kept countering each other. Nikki then went for a Rack Attack, but Perez escaped. Perez avoided a charging Nikki and delivered a Pop Rocks for the win.

WINNER: Perez in 12:00.

-As Perez and Raquel double-teamed Nikki. Stephanie Vaquer made the save. Raquel re-entered the ring and had a staredown with Vaquer. Nikki joined in. Raquel then backed away and left with Perez.

-They went to the announcers at ringside who threw to Bayley’s social media challenge she issued to Charlotte & Alexa.

-Backstage Asuka confronted Lyra Valkyria. She told Lyra she cut in front of them in line for a tag title shot. Kairi blamed Lyra also and left. Bayley then walked up to Lyra and said she got them into a mess. Bayley brushed it off and gave Lyra a robe. Bayley said the tag titles mean a lot to her and she believes in her. Lyra said she’s never been in the ring with either Charlotte or Alexa. Bayley asked what happens if they lose. Lyra asked, “What happens if we win!?” They got excited and slapped hands.

-Jimmy Uso confronted Jey and asked if he really doesn’t care what he says anymore. Jey said he was just trying to throw Knight over the top rope. Jimmy said he saw the tape. He said it was supposed to come down to the two of them before it was “every man for himself.” He said if Jey really believed in himself, he wouldn’t be so scared to find out which of them is better.

-Bron Breakker made his entrance with Reed and Heyman. [c]

-Tessitore got in plugs.

(3) BRON BREAKKER (w/Bronson Reed, Paul Heyman) vs. L.A. KNIGHT

Knight’s entrance aired. The bell rang 20 minutes into the hour. Breakker hit powermoves early. He thwarted Knight’s comeback attempt. Barrett said Knight has decades of experience, but he’s feeling like the rookie against Breakker since he’s never faced anyone like him.

Knight eventually took over and stomped away at Breakker in the corner and landed a running knee. Breakker retreated. Knight then dove through the ropes with a wrecking ball kick. He stared down Reed as they cut to a break at 3:00. [c]

At 9:00 Knight surprised Breakker with a flying clothesline and a neckbreaker followed by a powerslam. He paced around the ring and then landed a leaping elbowdrop. He looked to the crowd and signaled for the BFT. Breakker blocked it and hit a high knee. Breakker set up Knight for a superplex. Knight knocked him off of him. Breakker went for a huracanrana, but Knight knocked him off balance. Breakker took a hard fall to the mat. Fans chanted, “Holy shit!” Knight then lifted Breakker onto the top rope and set up a superplex. Breakker knocked him down, though, and climbed to the top. Knight ran back and quickly superplexed him leading to a near fall at 11:00.

Knight went for a BFT, but Breakker blocked it. Reed stood on the ring apron. Breakker then charged at a distracted Knight, but Knight saw him coming and avoided him. Breakker crashed shoulder-first into the ringpost. Knight then leaped off the ring apron onto Reed. Knight rammed Breakker’s head into the announce desk and played to the cheering fans. He threw Breakker back into the ring, then turned to Heyman. Heyman backed off.

Knight returned to the ring where Breakker pressed him above his head. Knight slipped free and landed an inverted DDT. Knight leaped off the top rope, but Breakker ducked and then speared Knight for the win.

WINNER: Breakker in 14:00.

(Keller’s Analysis: It’s always a little nerve-wracking watching Knight wrestle as there are sometimes several spots that seem on the verge of going awry, but overall a compelling battle. Knight got caught a couple times not staying focused and it cost him.)

-Pearce asked people backstage where Dom was. Someone pointed him toward Dom who was fist-bumping the Americano group. Dom said it’s crazy what the Americano trio did because now Penta and Rusev are going to go after them. He said they didn’t think it through. Pearce revealed to Dom that Rusev and Penta are going after him in a Triple Threat match at SNME. Dom was disappointed.

-Jey approached Jimmy and told him he heard what he said earlier. He said he’s his brother and he loves him and nothing will change that. He said it wasn’t his fault that Jimmy didn’t get the chance to eliminate him. He asked why he is coming after him before the biggest match of his career and claim he betrayed him. He said he has a lot on his plate now. He said he doesn’t have a lot of real estate for anyone. He asked if he hears him. Jimmy forgave him and hugged him.

-As McDonagh & Balor made their entrance. Barrett said the Jey took all the venom out of Jimmy there and attributed it to the twin relationship. [c]

-Tessitore plugged Cena’s last appearance on Raw as an active wrestler would be Nov. 17 at MSG.

(4) SHEAMUS vs. J.D. MCDONAGH (w/Finn Balor)

The bell rang 42 minutes into the hour. Sheamus dominated early. Balor interrupted Sheamus’s forearms to the chest attack against the ropes. Sheamus leaped onto both at ringside with a double clothesline. They cut to a break at 3:00. [c]

Back from the break, McDonagh had Sheamus down. The announcers said McDonagh’s attacks on Sheamus’s leg has weakened Sheamus.

At 11:00 Sheamus pounded his chest and charged at McDonaugh. McDonaugh cut him off and scored a two count. Sheamus came back quickly and lifted McDonagh. He shifted him into a Celtic Cross. Balor put McDonagh’s boot on the bottom rope to stop the count. Balor threatened Sheamus at ringside with Sheamus’s shillelagh. Sheamus kneed Balor and then set up a Razor’s Edge on the announce desk. McDonaugh intervened, so Sheamus slammed him on the desk. He then threw him into the ringside barricade and then back into the ring at 13:00.

Sheamus climbed to the top rope, but Balor hit him with the shillelagh. The ref didn’t see it. McDonaugh then gave Sheamus a top rope Spanish Fly for the win. Balor sat out of view at ringside chuckling. Barrett said no one was anticipating a McDonagh win. Tessitore backed up McDonagh’s performance without focusing on the cheating aspect.

WINNER: McDonagh in 14:00.

-A clip aired of Maxinne Dupri beating Becky Lynch when Lynch got herself intentionally disqualified and then attacking her afterward.

-Backstage, Pearce said with two wins over Becky, she has earned a third match for the title. He said Becky asked for the week off. Dupri said she doesn’t want this opportunity to go to waste. She said she wanted to call a friend and find out if she thinks she’s prepared and ready. She said she is determined to give Becky and the rest of the world the biggest shock of their lives. Pearce told her to call him when she’s ready and he’ll make it happen because she’s earned it.

-Redmond interviewed Charlotte & Bliss about accepting Bayley’s impromptu challenge. Bliss said if someone wants a fight, they just have to ask. Charlotte said she was about to make history. Bliss said, “We.” Charlotte said she is right and she needs to work on that. Asuka and Kairi Sane interrupted and said they should be getting the title match tonight. Asuka said Bayley & Lyra don’t deserve the titles, but neither do Charlotte & Bliss. Charlotte said they’d be honored to face them too. Asuka said they are not ready for her.

[HOUR THREE]

-Tessitore and Barrett plugged the SNME line-up on Saturday: Punk vs. Jey for the vacant World Title, Dom vs. Rusev vs. Penta for the IC Title. Jade vs. Tiffany for the WWE Women’s Title, and Cody Rhodes vs. Drew McIntyre for the Undisputed WWE Title. Tessitore called that last match “the big one.”

-A.J. Styles and Dragon Lee were chatting with Pearce. Styles said 2026 is his last year, but right now they are the tag champs. He told him to bring on the top contenders. Balor & McDonagh interrupted. Balor said they are done jumping through hoops for him and want their title shot. Pearce said he saw them cheat. Styles interrupted and said they don’t deserve it, “but let’s keep things hot.” He asked Dragon Lee. He said he is the heat and the fire, so next week, they’ll show them that together they are unstoppable. Pearce confirmed they want to defend against them. He told he’d do it for Styles. “It’s official,” he said.

(Keller’s Analysis: I liked that Pearce didn’t want to give them a title shot because they cheated, but Styles said bring it on because they had established they want to fight.)

-Lyra and Bayley made their ring entrance. [c]

-Barrett plugged the tag title match next week on Raw.

(5) CHARLOTTE & ALEXA BLISS vs. BAYLEY & LYRA VALKYRIA – Women’s Tag Team Championship match

The bell rang 16 minutes into the hour. Bliss opened against Bayley. Charlotte blind-tagged in. The continued rapid-fire tags. They cut to an early break. [c]

Charlotte rallied and walked over both Bayley and Lyra who were on their backs and then landed a top rope moonsault on both. She scored a near fall on Bayley, who was legal.

Bayley rallied later and gave Charlotte a Bayley-to-Belly for a near fall at 11:00. Valkyria landed a legdrop to the back of Charlotte’s head, but Charlotte wasn’t legal. Bliss caught Lyra mid-ring and landed a Sister Abigail. Bayley broke up the cover (sort of). Bliss leaped off the top rope at Bayley, but Lyra caught her mid-air and landed Night Wing. Charlotte broke up the cover (sort of).

Charlotte put Bayley in a Figure-Eight, but Lyra stopped Bayley from tapping. Bliss then gave Lyra a Twisted Bliss. That broke up the Figure-Eight. Charlotte and Bliss kipped up and delivered stereo Natural Selections. Charlotte pinned Bayley to win.

WINNERS: Charlotte & Bliss in 14:00 to retain the Women’s Tag Team Titles.

-Afterward, Asuka and Kairi attacked everyone else and then danced to the stage as the show ended.
