The cast also includes Lauren McQueen (Marian), Lydia Peckham (Priscilla of Nottingham), Marcus Fraser (Little John), Henry Rowley (Will Gamewell), Erica Ford (Ralph), Steven Waddington (Earl of Huntingdon), Richard Lintern (Bishop) and Angus Castle-Doughty (Friar Tuck).

Patten plays Rob, a Saxon forester’s son who rises as the leader of a band of rebel outlaws, Rob is torn between his need for vengeance and his love for a Norman girl, Marian.

Bean plays the Sheriff of Nottingham, a statesman, a strategist, and a builder of Nottingham itself. A loving father, a politician, and cousin to King Henry II, he navigates the dangerous tides of power, facing not only an outlaw in the woods but also the ambitions of Eleanor of Aquitaine and the Norman Barons that surround him. Cunning and pragmatic, he is a man who rules with an iron hand, not out of cruelty, but an unshakable belief that the law, as Normans see it, must be preserved.

Official Synopsis:

In 12th-century England, Saxons live under the crushing rule of Norman power. Among them is Robert of Locksley, the son of a forester, whose life is shattered when his family is stripped of their ancestral home and his father is executed by the Sheriff of Nottingham. Gifted with the longbow, Rob grows from grief into rebellion, his fate forever entwined with Marian, a noblewoman torn between loyalty to her family and her love for him. As tensions rise, Rob gathers a band of outlaws around him — men and women with little in common but their Saxon heritage and desire to fight tyranny. In Sherwood Forest, they wage war against corruption and injustice, drawing the ire of Sheriff, Barons, and Norman royalty alike. What begins as vengeance transforms into something far greater: the legend of Robin Hood, a symbol of defiance whose struggle will shape the fate of England itself.

An epic adventure, Robin Hood brings a modern energy to the classic tale of the roguish outlaw hero who stole from the rich and gave to the poor, and the epic love story between him and a courageous and daring Marian. It is a smart, sweeping, romantic adventure that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian to the beloved story.

Creator and executive producer John Glenn says on the series, “It is very grounded in historical accuracy. We did a ton of research in that way and it’s an origin story. This is the story of a boy becoming a man, and then that man becoming an outlaw, and that outlaw a legend. It’s more Peaky Blinders in tone than any other Robin Hood I’ve seen.”

Robin Hood begins on November 2nd with a two-episode debut on MGM+.
