‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ Sets Peacock Release Date

“Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale” is heading to Peacock next month, the streamer has announced.
The third and final “Downton Abbey” movie will be available to stream from home on Peacock beginning Nov. 7 after it released in theaters on Sept. 12. Continuing the popular TV series, “The Grand Finale” was a hit at the box office, making $100 million globally, and it was well-received by longtime fans. All six seasons of “Downton Abbey” are also available to watch on Peacock, plus the 2019 self-titled movie and its 2022 sequel “A New Era.”
“Many hardcore ‘Downton’ devotees will know that one of the mainstay themes of the franchise has been preserving Downton’s well-earned honor across the changing times, which have challenged the family and their servants with various ups and downs, with many an impossible-to-please, high-profile guest, and instances of love, death and even war that entered the orbit of the Crawley estate,” wrote film critic Tomris Laffly for Variety. “Through it all, protecting that top-drawer ‘Downton’ integrity — not just of the fictional house, but of the entire franchise — must have been on Fellowes’ mind as a priority too, while he thoughtfully evolved the upstairs and downstairs residents of the majestic estate on their own plausible terms.”
The “Grand Finale” cast included Hugh Bonneville, Jim Carter, Michelle Dockery, Paul Giamatti, Elizabeth McGovern, Penelope Wilton and more, and it was directed by Simon Curtis.
Peacock also set streaming release dates for the Bob Odenkirk action movie “Nobody 2” (Nov. 2) and the animated movie “The Bad Guys 2” (Nov. 21).
