NBC is really pulling out all of the stops to insure that Jimmy Fallon and The Tonight Show get a ratings boom. They’ve brought on conservative talk show host Greg Gutfeld, who runs laps around Fallon, audience wise. They did a full Taylor Swift takeover for the release of her album The Life of a Show Girl, including extra bonus content on YouTube.
Now, in another bid to make Fallon the can’t miss apolitical late-night show (oxymoronic, I know), the network announced that Fallon will be the man to announce the next People Sexiest Man Alive. Fallon has never been given the honor himself, though he was named 2025’s Sexiest Game Show host by People.
According to LateNighter, Fallon will reveal the next Sexiest Man Alive and give him the honor in person on the Monday, November 3rd episode. It’s not the first time Fallon — or another late-night show host — has been given the task of naming another guy as the sexiest.

Last year, Stephen Colbert named John Krasinski as sexiest man, and the year before that, Jimmy Kimmel bestowed Patrick Dempsey with the same honor. Back in 2018, Fallon did the same for Idris Elba, and Kimmel has also revealed the biggest hunk multiple other times throughout the years.
This is an extra special christening of “man who your mom loves but can’t remember the name of,” however. When Fallon reveals who the next sexiest man is, it will also be the 40th anniversary of People Magazine’s award/coordinated celebrity PR strategy.
Fallon’s already got a bit of recent practice for this year. Just last week, Fallon presented Dave Franco with People’s “Sexiest Cat Dad.” Because there’s nothing less political or more pandering than a good looking man who loves his cats.
Do you have bets on who will be the sexiest man this year? It tends to be a middle-aged, well muscled, salt-and-pepper guy that women of all ages can fantasize about settling down with. It also tends to be someone who is looking to elevate or further cement their public profile.
My bet? Ryan Gosling or Brad Pitt. I guess we will find out next week. And we’ll see if hosting the Sexiest Man helps Fallon get a sexy ratings boost.
