Ghost of Tsushima receives major Steam update with Steam Deck Verification and FSR Boost

Ghost of Tsushima gets a surprise Steam update adding Steam Deck verification, FSR 3.1.4 support, and major performance improvements for PC players.
Ghost of Tsushima received an unexpected update on Steam today, featuring a variety of technical improvements and full Steam Deck verification. The update brings optimisations, bug fixes, and general improvements to Sony’s critically praised samurai adventure.
With this patch, Sucker Punch also unbundles the game’s single-player and online multiplayer modes, allowing the game’s Legends mode to be downloaded separately as a free DLC. This allows for more flexibility for users, while also improving stability and compatibility across devices.
Ghost of Tsushima is one of PlayStation’s most loved exclusives, with many still finding it impressive even years after its release. With this new update, players on PC can expect smoother performance, improved upscaling technology, and a better handheld experience on the Steam Deck.
Steam Deck Verification and Mode Separation
Patch 8 verifies the single-player portion of the game for Steam Deck while also introducing a suite of quality-of-life improvements. With this patch, Sucker Punch Productions has not only verified Ghost of Tsushima for Steam Deck, but also created a Steam Deck-optimised graphics preset and tweaked the game’s UI scaling to accommodate the platform’s smaller screen.
They have also separated the single-player portion of the game from Legends, which can now be downloaded as free DLC for the Director’s Cut version of Ghost of Tsushima. Despite now being split from the single-player campaign, downloading Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on PC still requires a PSN account. However, the game can still be played completely offline in single-player.

Performance Upgrades and FSR Enhancements
Patch 8 will also see a technical upgrade for AMD players. Ghost of Tsushima will now support AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) v3.1.4, increasing the frame rate and image quality for PC and Steam Deck users.
For players with the latest Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards, the update will allow the users to manually enable FSR 4 from AMD’s driver interface, resulting in a further increase in performance and image quality.
Aside from these updates, the patch also fixes a recurring audio bug in the “Eternal Blue Sky” mission as well as a Steam Input crash which impacted certain controllers. A number of minor improvements have also been added to the game, including additional stability, UI improvements and better optimisation for low-power devices.
